There is an actual sand dollar, whelk shell, and sea urchin shell under these pendants. I found the whelk shell at Cape Hatteras, NC, and purchased the other two pieces. I attached a bail and some half-round beads to fake rivets or a piece of sea glass for a little pop. Then electroformed them. The whelk and sea urchin shells were dipped in LOS patina, and then buffed.
The necklaces will change in darkness and color due to the “living” nature of this metal. It can always be buffed and cleaned to restore original brightness.
